Whistler Real Estate Sales Statistics - Median Sale Price and Sold Listings from 2007-2012

The graphs below illustrate the Median Sale Price of Real Estate in Whistler, B.C ., based on property type and location. The green line indicates SOLD listings in the specific property criteria that year. Alpine Meadows Chalets As illustrated in the graph the median chalet sale price was down slightly in 2011 in Alpine Meadows. With listing inventory on a steady decline, it looks like prices in this criteria have seen the bottom and will increase through 2012. Alta Vista Chalets Because of the widespread of property types in Alta Vista, we see more of a spread from the low of 2007 to the high of 2009. This can be mainly attributed to the water front estates that sell in Alta Vista vs the sale of tear down cabins or vacant land. Bayshores Chalets It appears that we've seen the bottom of the chalet market in Bayshores as the median sale price has gone up by 12% from 2010 to 2011 . Black Tusk Chalets The graph illustrates a huge increase in median sale price from 2010 to 2011.

La Niña loves Whistler, which has received 17 feet of snow so far; another 10 inches of snowfall expected this week!

Whistler, B.C. – With the best snow conditions in North America, the resort of Whistler is seeing the business benefits of a La Niña winter – and it’s only January. While many resorts in North America are struggling with well-below average snow coverage, Whistler has received 17 feet of snowfall in the first two months of the winter season and boasts 8,171 skiable acres of terrain – more than any other destination in the United States and Canada. In fact, compared to major resorts in Colorado, Utah and California, Whistler has more than twice the amount of snow. Since Christmas Eve, more snow has fallen in Whistler (six feet) than major Californian resorts have received season to date. Last year the resort received more than 52 feet of snowfall, shattering the average annual accumulation of 34 feet, and La Niña is helping pave the way for a repeat performance this year. The first two months of Whistler Blackcomb’s 2011/ 2012 winter season have been excellent, with
